Job is the principal activity in your life that you do to earn money. It is specific, like a policeman, teacher or doctor. But career is general, it's the general progression of your working or professional life. For example, in the future, you want to work in arts, but you are not sure what kind of artist you want to be. In my opinion, job is based on career.
